Plans & pricing.
Pick where it runs, then switch on only the parts you need. The core is the box. The studio, the IDE and shared spaces are add-ons — off until you turn them on, so nobody pays for a surface they never open.
Three ways to run it.
The stack is identical in all three.
Same software whether we host it, you host it, or it arrives in a box. What changes is who buys the hardware and who gets woken at 3am.
Hosted
$350/month
A dedicated box on our infrastructure. You never SSH in, and you can take it with you whenever you like.
- Your own machine, not a row beside somebody else's
- Updates, backups, monitoring, TLS
- Gateway across ~15 providers, spend-capped
- Leaving is a snapshot, not an export
Your own VPS
$650one-time setup
then $150/month licence
Your account, your server, your keys. We stand the whole stack up and hand it over — or you follow the docs and do it yourself.
- Licence to run the full stack commercially
- We provision, verify, and remove our access
- Sell whatever you build on it
- Doing it yourself? Licence only — skip the setup fee
The box
$900one-time
no shipping fee · ships within 30 days
A machine that arrives working — the stack installed, local models already on it, and set up in your home or office.
- Preinstalled and tested before it ships
- Local models included — it works with the internet off
- Local setup, on site or guided
- Yours outright. No subscription to keep it running
It reaches you through apps you already have — WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Slack, iMessage — and on a real phone number. Nothing to download, nothing to enable, no notification permission to grant.
Text channels are included in every plan. Troy arrives on WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Slack and the rest natively — no add-on, no number, no setup. Add a voice line below when you want it to ring you.
And you never register anything with a carrier. Your agent only ever talks to you, so the traffic is ours rather than yours — one brand covering every customer, and a phone line live the day you sign up rather than weeks later. Registration only enters the picture if you want a line that answers your customers, and that is the desk.
Everything past the core is optional.
Off by default, and that is deliberate — a platform that bills you for six surfaces you never open is a platform you cancel. Switch on what your use case actually needs.
Carrier registration, your Stripe account, and platform app review. Each is days to weeks, each can come back rejected, and none of them speeds up because you paid for something. We will never tell you otherwise at checkout.
Or we file them for you — $650 once, all four platforms. We write the app
description that passes, make the declaration honestly, and absorb the
resubmissions. Same service we already run for carriers on the desk, and the same
reason: you are paying for somebody to sit on hold, not for a faster
answer.
Have us do the filing
Troy Voice includes a dedicated number and 200 minutes a month, then $0.29 a minute — inbound and outbound. Nothing to register: the line is issued under our carrier brand because it only ever speaks to you.
It answers as your business.
Not as a chatbot on your site.
Chat, tickets and a real phone line, working from your own rulebook and your own answer library. It looks a real customer up in your system through a default-deny gate, or it hands the call to a person.
Desk
$299/month
add voice for $400/month + $0.35/min
Chat, tickets and — when you want it — a real phone line, running on our infrastructure. You need nothing but a script tag.
- Tickets opened at the start of contact, append-only
- Self-escalating clocks, your rulebook stamped on every ticket
- We hold the carrier relationship — Trust Hub, A2P, the paperwork
- Voice answering in days, not weeks
Desk, self-hosted
$1,200setup
then $99/month licence
The same desk on your box. We install it, seed your rulebook and answer library, verify it, and remove our access.
- Every conversation stays on your machine
- We build the corpus with you — that is most of the setup
- Same code, same schema, same guarantees
- Needs a box — hosted, your own VPS, or hardware
The gate
$2,500setup
then $199/month, per system
The door into your own API, so the desk can look a real customer up. Default-deny by named route, designed and installed against your production system.
- Named routes only — shipping a feature never widens it
- No ticket, no write. Refused in code, not in policy
- Money and third-party contact need a signature
- Works with either plan above
Hosted, no. It runs on our infrastructure and needs nothing from you but a script tag and — if you want account lookups — a gate into your own API. Our first customer runs it with no box of any kind.
Self-hosted, yes — it has to run somewhere, so it needs one of the BoxClaw plans underneath it. And if you already have a box with the scaffolds add-on, every application it generates ships with a basic ticket desk from birth; upgrading that to this one is a connection, not a migration, because they share a schema.
The carrier relationship does not travel. Hosted, we already hold the Trust Hub approval and the A2P registration, so a phone line is days away. Self-hosted, the numbers are yours — which means your Twilio account, your brand registration, and a wait measured in weeks that can come back rejected.
Chat and tickets have no carrier in them at all, so self-hosting those costs you nothing but the box. It is only voice and SMS where hosting with us buys time you cannot buy any other way.
SMS is quoted separately and it is not fast. Voice works in hours; carrier registration for texting is measured in weeks and can be refused. We start the clock on day one and never promise it before it lands.
It lives at home.
It is reachable anywhere.
A local-first AI friend for a child. The data never leaves the house — the box answers, the relay only carries. The parent removes capabilities on a schedule and reads nothing.
Family
$29/month
per household · any number of children
Runs on your own box. Priced per family rather than per child, because a second child costs us nothing and charging for one is the wrong incentive.
- Reachable from their phone, anywhere
- Schedules enforced at the box — leaving the house does not lift bedtime
- The parent removes capabilities and reads no conversations
- At 18 it becomes theirs — memories and all
Family + the box
$900one-time
then $29/month
The hardware and the companion together — a box that arrives with the models already on it, set up in the house.
- Ships within 30 days, no shipping fee
- Local models included — it works with the internet off
- Nothing about your child reaches our servers
- Set up in your home, not posted in a jiffy bag
Yes, and that is the entire product. It lives on a machine in your house, which is what makes "the data never leaves the house" a fact about where the hardware sits rather than a promise in a privacy policy.
Already have a box? Add the companion for $29/month. Starting from nothing? $900 once brings the machine, the local models and the setup with it — and there is no hosted option here on purpose.
Not shipping yet, and deliberately last. A product for children carries COPPA, GDPR-K and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code all at once, and that is a thing to design for rather than to discover. The waitlist is real; the date is not set.
Four things people ask first.
Can I move between plans?
Yes, in both directions. Hosted → your own VPS is a snapshot handed to your account. Your own VPS → hosted is the same in reverse. The stack is identical, so nothing has to be rebuilt.
What happens if I cancel?
On hosted, you get the box handed to your own account rather than deleted. On a licence, you keep what you have and stop receiving updates. Nothing here is built to hold you.
Do I still need to pay for models?
Provider keys are yours and billed by them — Groq, Mistral, Gemini, Cerebras and NVIDIA all have usable free tiers. On the hardware plan the local models are included and run with no provider at all.
Is personal use really free?
Yes. Self-hosting for personal, family and household use is unconditional and always will be. These plans are for people running a business on it, or who would rather not run a server.
